So, in 1967 they travelled to Rishikesh. This trip to India was part of a sudden fascination of everything Indian by the vibrant and searching youth of the late 1960s.
Soon, however, The Beatles returned to London, developing a taste for Indian spirituality, but not finding full satisfaction. George continued his search

Aditya Duhkhaha Prabhu about Kirtan

2515191717?profile=original

- What are the basics of behavior during kirtan?
- The main thing - is the unity. Without it, kirtan will fail. From the first minute it is difficult to combine the kirtan all the devotees. Usually, to form a unity among the faithful, and that they had a taste, it takes some time. Is 15 minutes’re kirtan, 20 minutes, 30 … And then begins something unusual. Sankirtana - chanting it. “O Kesava! O Lord of the Universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of Lord Balarama, the wielder of the plow! All glories to You! On Your brilliant white body, You wear garments the color of a fresh blue rain cloud. These garments are the color of the River Yamuna, who feels great fear due to the striking of Your plowshare.”

Our Good News Increases!

2515191903?profile=original

Vijaya Dasa: Recently, I spoke on the Bhagavad-gita in Oslo, Norway, at the Sunday program. One point I made is that there is so much bad news. But people like to hear it, and thus worldwide they read the latest news in the morning before or while going to work and in the evening when they return.

Prabhupada said his disciples don’t read the news, because it’s all bad news. No one walks away inspired after hearing bad news. Our morning news is the Srimad Bhagavatam, but that is all good news.

SALT LAKE CITY — Caru Das considers himself a guru of color festivals. So why limit his handiwork to one season?
He has spread his passion for Holi — the Hindu festival during which people welcome the arrival of spring by tossing colored powder — throughout the calendar year, only avoiding days when weather could stand in the way of the celebration.
“I try to avoid the summer. It’s too hot for a lot of dancing,” said Das, a temple priest for Utah’s Hare Krishna community.

In a previous article I mentioned that in 1969 “I was one of three devotees at the first Woodstock”. But no, there were four shaved-up brahmacharis in dhotis (and a number of future devotees, as I have since learned). My memory has been jogged by a recent reading of our Godbrother Shriman Bhurijana das Prabhu’s wonderful book My Glorious Master.

Yours truly was the only devotee from the New York Hare Krishna Temple, but the entire Chapel Hill, N.C. ISKCON crew, numbering three, as seen below, h

Vaisesika das: During the summer months, thousands of people visit scenic Pacific Beach in San Diego, California, some of them staying for a week or longer in the pricey rental apartments that line the shoreline.
As I took my daily walk along Pacific Beach this morning, I observed how vacationers there were doing their best to relish the ocean-side environment. Some lay out in the morning sun on the sandy beach, others jogged or rode bikes, while others sat at trendy sidewalk cafes, picking at
