Today we placed the Planetarium Dome Chakra onto the Kalash for a second test run to insure proper mounting, along with the a special flag pole and test flag. Both items are now aligned and ready for the future permanent installation.
The flag is 5 meters (16 feet) in length. Sadbhuja initially thought this might be too big, but after raising the flag and viewing it from a distance it is clearly the perfect size. The reason for the flag is to allow us to change it regularly for various purposes
The Canterbury Cathedral and the English countryside where the Padayatra started.
Devotees from ISKCON-London along with Mahavishnu Swami are leading a five-day Padayatra which started on Monday 17th July, walking 40 miles from Canterbury to Folkestone, following on from the success of last year's Padayatra which was in honour of ISKCON's 50th Anniversary.
The group of devotees are leading a lively and uplifting procession of music, food, philosophy, dance and a ‘temple on wheels’ through the
It can be a challenge to maintain your dignity sometimes. I remember when I became a Krishna monk many years ago and donned the orange robes to venture forth on to the streets. Hare Krishna devotees were not a familiar sight at the time, and we would often encounter a spirited response from onlookers, as we sang and danced our way along the road. On one occasion I was showered with a can of beer, and it took strong resolve on my part to keep my composure.
It’s much better these days. I can’t re
Canterbury has seen hundreds of thousands of pilgrims over the centuries.
Ever since Henry II's soldiers murdered Beckett in the Cathedral, they have paid their respects, and sought redemption for their sins.
But there has never been a gathering quite like the one that tourists and visitors witnessed this week.
For the very first time, Hare Krishna monks have assembled outside the cathedral gates.
Their mission? To let the crowds watching them know, that regardless of the terror attacks that hav
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada changed the world. When he came to America from India in 1965, few Westerners knew the deep spiritual truths behind ancient Vedic culture and civilization. Within a decade most humans on the planet had heard the Hare Krishna mantra. Shyamasundar Das (Sam Speerstra) was one of Bhaktivedanta Swami’s earliest disciples, helping him shape the Krishna Consciousness Movement around the world.
Volume One of Shyamasundar’s long-awaited memoir is now available in pap

The kirtans are fantastic, there is so much senior association, all the devotees want to serve, the management is par excellent, the prasad is delicious, and the Dham is so beautiful! Still, hearing from the disciples of Srila Prabhupada is my favourite part.” – (Nimai Sundar Prabhu)

Our pāda-yātrā party reached Kalady (Kaladi) on June 5th. The town is located east of the Periyar river, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala and is not far from the ‘Cochin International Airport’. It is famous for being the birth place of Adi Shankaracharya, an incarnation of Lord Shiva.

Dear Maharaj's and Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. This is an appeal for your help for Prabhupada's Vrndavana Samadhi Project. This year, somehow the donation level has fallen below normal. For the first time in 17 years, I had to break a small Fixed Deposit to put in the working account. More than that, we must re-seal the dome after 25 monsoons, to ensure no leaking or concomitant structural damage. Removing the grouting on all the dome tiles from

– Bada Hari, what does chanting of holy names mean for you? What inspires you?
– For us chanting means chanting the maha-mantra. In this modern age the method of self-realization, God-realization, which means to awaken love for God, is to chant the holy names. Lord Chaitanya, who is Krishna Himself, has appeared in this age and has recommended the names of God in the particular form of maha-mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/ Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
Dear Maharaj’s and Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Film Review: Hare Krishna! the Mantra, the Movement and the Swami Who Started it All
4.5 out of 5 Stars
A handful of critics have panned Hare Krishna! for being no more than a marketing tool for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness [ISKCON], otherwise known as The Hare Krishna Movement.
And one may argue that its glaring fault is that it fails to examine the problems the movement has faced since its founder, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, left his physical bod
The huge chariot was pulled through the city
Hundreds of festival-goers have joined a procession in which a 40ft (12.1m) chariot was pulled through Leicester city centre.
The Hare Krishna Festival of Chariots began in Granby Street with a welcome ceremony and ended at Cossington Park, in Belgrave, on Sunday afternoon.
Leicester hosts one of the largest celebrations of its type in Europe, organisers said.
The chariot carried deities of the Lord Jagannatha and his sister Subhadra.

Srila Sanatana Goswami in his Hari Bhakti Vilas quotes the Padma Purana, which states: “Kartik is the best, the purest of purifiers, and most glorious of all months. Kartik month is particularly dear to Lord Sri Krsna. This month is full of bhakta vatsalya. Any vrata, even the smallest, will yield huge results…Srimati Radhika is the presiding deity of the holy month of Kartik. Rupa Goswami and others refer to Radharani as Kartik Devi; in other words, Radhika is the goddess or presiding Deity of

Our pāda-yātrā party was passing through the village of Talugudi on June 14th . Rupa Ragunath Maharaj was about to leave for Argentina after having spent some time with us. He said to me that day, “We should dress Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundar very nicely with beautiful garlands.” We usually make simple garlands but I agreed that having nice garlands for Their Lordships would attract more people to take Their darsana too.
