Vrndavana dasa Thakura is Lord Nityananda’s favorite devotee, and therefore he is the original Vyasadeva in describing the pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Vyasadeva described the pastimes of Krsna in Srimad-Bhagavatam. The Vyasa of the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was Vrndavana dasa.

Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur was born four years after Mahaprabhu took sannyasa.

His mother was Sri Narayani Devi. She was the niece of Srivasa Pandit.

Once at a festival in Hawaii, a bogus group was glorifying a supposed incarnation of Rama and Krsna. Govinda Dasi stood up on a table and started yelling: "How can you say this ugly man is God?"
