The proud, successful materialist laughs to see how much better off he is than those who are suffering in destitute impoverished conditions. But he does not realize that his successful position is only temporary. He is briefly enjoying the result of his previous pious activities while engaging in all sinful nonsense. He does not realize that as soon as his pious karma is exhausted he will be dragged down by the stringent laws of nature into a pitiable condition. In this connection there a Bengal

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami  Prabhupada writes in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 1.6.38 as follows:

"No one can be truly happy within the material world. Srila Narada Muni, in order to enlighten the miserable inhabitants, wanders everywhere. His mission is to get them back home, back to Godhead. That is the mission of all genuine devotees of the Lord following the footsteps of that great sage."

Srila Narada Muni is one of the predecessor acharyas in our line of disciplic succession

No. Krishna is the God of the Gods.

Question: Are the All the Gods Supreme?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

I read in a recent reply that Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Lord Krishna. I feel that the variety of gods, demigods and deities are forms of the Supreme Personality Of Godhead, meant to cater to the 400,000 different species of humans as described in the Vedas. And I feel that Lord Krishna Himself is the form that is meant for the people who are mentally and spiritually most advanced, those who can d

Of the many wonderful pastimes of Srila Prabhupada I heard a wonderful
story that I'd never heard the second part of until now.
First part was with Prabhupada travelling to South America with his two
servants, the temple where they'd been gave them a packed lunch for the plane,
so in the air Srutakirti Prabhupada's servant opened Prabhupad's lunch pack and
served him his prasadam of puffed rice and peanuts. Prabhupada had his fill and
handed over the remnants to Srutakirti who'd just began eating when

Prabhupada was scheduled to speak at the centre that night. The devotees had set up Prabhupada's vyasasana at the end of the expansive hall. The combined colour scheme was quite striking -- the maha-mantra was painted all around the burnt-orange walls in metre-high dark brown lettering. Illumination came from bright red and yellow paper lanterns hanging from the tall ceiling. Mounted on the back wall was an enormous black and white photographic profile of Srila Prabhupada. Thought Of The Day

Even if devotees excuse those who insult them, Krishna takes a different position and He is strict on this matter. Krishna will not excuse or tolerate any insult of His devotees. If we want to please Krishna, we must never insult His devotees. BG 1.26-27, London 1973

The Disease of Envy

Bhagavad Gita says that the bewildered spirit soul thinks himself to
be the doer of activites but in actuallity all the activities are
carried out by nature. This nature is working under Krishna’s
direction. Anything material spiritual anything is being performed by
Krishna alone. If we want to enjoy anything if we want to claim
proprietorship over anything or if want to take credit for anything
that means the most serious destructive enemy has overcome us. In this
material world everyone is envious of

His Holiness Radhanath Swami addressed 830 HSBC Bankers in Canary Wharf UK
on 7th April 2011.

It seemed as if time had paused on Thursday 7th April to witness
an historical event where two extreme ends of the world met for a fusion of
the material to the spiritual. His Holiness Radhanath Swami was invited as
key note speaker on behalf of the Euro CEO of HSBC to address a large
gathering of high profile influential bankers along with the Group Manager
of the Board on the topic of universal equality.

The idea is that if you once see Krishna, then you will forget all
this nonsense material enjoyment. That is seeing Krishna. No more.

Svamin krtartho ’smi varam na yace (Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya 22.42).
"My dear Lord I don’t want anything." Dhruva Maharaja went to see
Krishna to get the kingdom of his father, but when he saw Krishna,
Vishnu offered, "Now, whatever benediction you want, you take." He
said, svamin krtartho ’smi varam na yace, "My dear Lord, I have no

The Hare Krishna mantra is unlimitedly powerful and has the potency to immediately cleanse us of all the reactions from our sinful activities from this an so many other lifetimes. It has the power to awaken within us our original pure love for Krishna. The Hare Krishna mantra has the power to connect us with an ever-increasing ocean of transcendental pleasure. On the other hand one can chant the Hare Krishna mantra for many, many births and not achieve any significant results at all. Why?

Prabhupada-Stotram

Srila Prabhupada Stotram
(Composed by Ananta Dasa Sastri)

Ananta Dasa Sastri was a disciple of Srila Prabhupada. He used to travel with Srila Prabhupada in India and he was in the Sanskrit department assisting Srila Prabhupada in translation work. He compiled five slokas which describe much of Srila Prabhupada's divine character and his divine mission also. Prabhupada very much liked these five slokas. We used to sing them every morning before Guru Puja by his vyasasana, so some of you may rememb

Fasting

Hare Krishna,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada, confidential servitor of Srimati Radharani.

Fasting is an austerity. All austerity according to Guru, Krishna, and Shastra, are for the purpose of pleasing the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Any other external reason for fasting, like political protest, etc., is a violation of the injunctions of the Shastra.

Of course, sometimes, when a person is ill, they need to fast to recover their health, that is alright.

Maya

Hare Krishna,

Even though Maya is an expansion of Subhadra Maharani, Subhadra Maharani is NOT Maya! Just like the living entity is an expansion of Krishna, but the living entity is NOT Krishna.

Indeed, Maya IS dangerous, even if she is an expansion of Subhadra Mayi. :-) And to say so is not an offense unto Maya or Subhadra Maharani.

In fact, Yoga Maya and Maha Maya are very very different. Completely different. Like day and night. Both come and go based on the movement of the sun. Similarly both Yo

Why Innumerable Living Entities?

Question: Why Innumerable Living Entities?

My question is:

Why has Lord Krishna created innumerable living entities for His service? What is the need of innumerable servants? Countless living entities means, countless suffering, countless planets, countless management, and countless problems. To solve these countless problem there are countless incarnations of Krishna.

We saw one signboard in a yoga society inLos Angeles that "You become silent, and you'll become God." (laughs)And here Krsna says that you cannot become silent even for a moment. You see? You Have A Severe Birth Defect

Did you know that you have a severe birth defect? That birth defect is that you have a mortal body.  Your original body is eternally youthful, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. But your present body is defective in so many ways. It has imperfect senses, it gets old, and it dies. So instead of remaining in this defective condition birth after birth, revive your original Krishna consciousness and regain your original perfect body in the spiritual sky.
