Priceless Experiences on Book Distribution

It was the first time I've distributed the Bhagavad Gita — altogether a new and wonderful experience. Yesterday, I started distributing in my own block. My mother and I went door to door, yearning to tell others about the Gita's importance in our lives. A few people were welcoming and listened to us with interest. Some were less interactive.

A teenage girl was alone at home, so in the beginning she was hesistant to make the decision of buying BG for Rs.10

For millions and zillions of years he has been patiently waiting for us. One would have become hopeless by this time. But still he has the hope that a day will come when we will look towards him and will say “Yes, I have been missing you”.

2 birds are sitting on a tree – one is the Supersoul and the other individual soul. We are the individual soul and Krishna is the Supersoul. The individual soul is eating the fruits of the tree and the Supersoul is just watching him. Both the birds are desperat

So it is very difficult job, but if one is able to give up these sinful activities, then his life is very pure. He becomes purified. And unless one is purified, he cannot chant Hare Krsna; neither he can understand Krsna consciousness.

He was being chased by a tiger. In desperation he called my name. Hearing his call, I immediately rushed towards him to save him. B

TEXT 48

A thief may dress smartly but within his heart he is extremely fearful. He is always afraid of unseen danger and the chance of being caught. But a law abiding citizen lives a carefree life.

In this world misery afflicts those who mess up with the laws of nature. But those who live as per the injunctions of the revealed scriptures are always happy and hearty. The revealed scriptures such as Bhagavad – Gita, Srimad – Bhagavatam etc. should be our manual for life.  If we purchase any equipment then

Krsna says that this place is duhkhalayam asasvatam [Bg. 8.15]. This material world, where we are now living under different change of body one after another, it is duhkhalayam. Why I have to change my body? Why not... I am permanent. Na hanyate hanyamane sarire [Bg. 2.20]. Therefore we have to learn, we have to be educated, we have to receive knowledge from the perfect. And Krsna personally, the Supreme Perfect Person, is giving you knowledge. And if we are so unfortunate that we do not take th

So it is clear that the soul is different from the body. But because we are fools and rascals, we learn it after death. That is foolishness. Not in the beginning. In the beginning the Bhagavad-gita says, Krsna says, that asmin dehe, "Within this body, the soul is there." "No, no. I don't believe." Dull brain cannot understand. But after death, he sees, "Yes. The body's not my son. The body's not my husband." So that is foolishness. The foolish person understands late, and the intelligent person

So actually, that is the position of all living entities within this material world. Encaged by maya, illusion, they have forgotten what is the self-interest. The self-interest is: go back to home, back to Godhead. That is real-self interest. So every intelligent man should first of all see to his self-interest, how to become free from this repetition of birth and death and go back to home, back to God. That is self-interest. And if we do not know, we do not execute in that way -- that means Krs

A survey conducted by Sunday Times of India (March 6, 2011) threw up a surprise.  Contrary to the perception that young people in India are becoming disinclined towards spirituality the survey shows that younger people are more & more becoming interested in spirituality.

A person may be a billionaire, own palatial bungalows & fleet of cars, and may have all the comforts of this world but still he may feel hollow from within.

* Gujarati Garba Event *

On Saturday, October 13th, we had the opportunity to do book distribution at the Ontario Soccer Centre, where there was a Garba Event. Imagine LOUD P-U-L-S-I-N-G LIVE MUSIC, with hundreds of people dancing with dandiya sticks and us, Srila Prabhupada's book distributors, trying to deliver these souls.
