yas tv atma-ratir eva syad
atma-trptas ca manavah
atmany eva ca santustas
tasya karyam na vidyate

SYNONYMS

yah--one who; tu--but; atma-ratih--takes pleasure; eva--certainly; syat--remains; atma-trptah--self-illuminated; ca--and; manavah--a man; atmani--in himself; eva--only; ca--and; santustah--perfectly satiated; tasya--his; karyam--duty; na--does not; vidyate--exist.

TRANSLATION

One who is, however, taking pleasure in the self, who is illuminated in the self, who rejoices in and is satisf

So our lusty desires, sense gratification, cannot be satisfied even throughout the whole life. The account is being given of the whole life, hundred years. So out of hundred years, fifty years wasted by sleeping, twenty years wasted by playing like boy and young man, and twenty years as old man, diseased, invalidated, and balance ten years... Because ninety years he has been so much attached to materialistic way of life, naturally the balance ten years, sesam, he cannot utilize in any other way.

evam pravartitam cakram 
nanuvartayatiha yah 
aghayur indriyaramo 
mogham partha sa jivati

SYNONYMS

evam--thus prescribed; pravartitam--established by the Vedas;cakram--cycle; na--does not; anuvartayati--adopt; iha--in this life; yah--one who; agha-ayuh--life full of sins; indriya-aramah--satisfied in sense gratification; mogham--useless; partha--O son of Prtha (Arjuna); sah--one who does so; jivati--lives.

TRANSLATION

My dear Arjuna, a man who does not follow this prescribed Vedic system of sac

So this chanting of Hare Krsna is so important that you can think always that "Death is coming. Death is at my door. Let me finish my chanting. Let me finish my chanting." Always you should think like that, that "Death is already coming, so let me chant." So this is called bhagavata-dharma, and Krsna consciousness movement means bhagavata-dharma.
