The six-day 'Golakera Premadhana Kirtan Mela 2026' was organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Sylhet. The event took place from August 23 to 28 at the ISKCON Sylhet temple premises. Alongside the Kirtan Mela, the 4th installation anniversary festival of the deities Sri Sri Radha-Madhava, Sri Sri Radha-Madhava's Jhulan Yatra, and Sri Sri Balarama Jayanti festival were celebrated.
Devotees from ISKCON temples across the country participated in the festival. Kirtan performances were arranged daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, totaling 72 hours of continuous kirtan over the six days. Over 200 kirtaniyas (kirtan singers) from various temples joined the performances.
In addition to the kirtan sessions, a special seminar titled "Srinama Mahatmya" was conducted every morning on the glory and importance of Sri Harinama Sankirtan. The discussions highlighted the spiritual strength of chanting Sri Harinama, its deep value in a devotee's daily walk, and practical ways to propagate the holy name to the holy name all around the world.
On the final day of Jhulan Yatra, an all-night Sri Sri Radha-Madhava Jhulan Leela-Kirtan was held. The vibrant chanting and kirtan created a festive atmosphere across the temple premises. Furthermore, a traditional Manipuri dance performance was performed to demonstrate the auspicious pastimes of Balarama Purnima, reflecting a harmonious blend of local culture and Vaishnava devotion.
According to the organizing authority, approximately 25,000 plates of Mahaprasadam were distributed throughout the six-day event. The devotion, music, and dance of over 200 visiting kirtaniyas, alongside the daily presence of numerous local and visiting attendees, created a joyful and divine environment.
HH Lokanath Swami Gurumharaj, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, joined online as the chief bestower of blessings. Other prominent attendees included HH Bhakti Vijaya Bhagavata Swami Maharaj and HG Naru Gopal Das from Sridham Mayapur.
August 28 marked the closing day, featuring special programs for Sri Sri Balarama Jayanti and the 4th deity installation anniversary of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava, which included a Maha-Abhishekam of the deities.
The Maha-Abhishekam and the six-day festival were attended by prominent ISKCON leaders, including: HH Bhakti Advaita Nabadvip Swami Maharaj, HH Bhakti Vinaya Swami Maharaj, HH Bhaktimay Nitai Swami Maharaj, HG Hamsa Krishna Das Brahmachari, HG Jagatguru Gauranga Das Brahmachari, HG Subha Nitai Das Brahmachari, HG Uday Gaura Das Brahmachari, HG Sudarshan Jagannath Das Brahmachari, HG Ratneshwar Krishna Das Brahmachari, HG Ratneshwar Das Brahmachari, HG Parthasarithi Krishna Das Brahmachari, HG Swatantra Gaura Das Brahmachari, HG Sridhar Chaitanya Das Brahmachari, alongside other senior devotees.
Various segments of the festival were broadcast live across digital platforms by Gauradesh TV Media.
