Its really great to read the feeling of devotees who want to serve Srla Prabhupada and his wonderful ISKCON.May Lord Krsna shower his blessing upon you so as you can advance in spiritual path.I am touched by your words that though you have some health difficulties ,you tried to find truth in this material world and eventually you came across Prabhupada's books ,BG as it is and definitely this will be final .I hope by Bg you will be feeling more secure than before.

Dear Frances, Hare Krishna.
I love your pictures. Thanks for your inquiry. I don't know how far you have progressed in Krishna Consciousness, but you have a head start already with your devotion to Krishna art and photography. You need to be regulated at first. Try to rise one hour earlier and chant a few rounds in front of an altar(offer incense and a candle) or even going for a japa walk would be nice. Try to chant at least 4 rounds a day and build up slowly to 16 rounds in blocks of 4. Don't rush in to a programme you can't handle. Take your time. Buy an offering plate and a photo of Srila Prabhupada and offer your food. The Higher Taste book gives instruction of how to do this. You need to follow the 4 regulations or your progress will be slow. Try and read at least one hour a day. Read at least a verse a day of the Bhagavad Gita. Start reading Srimad Bhagavatam from the beginning and read anything KC that catches your eye also, they are all like sugar candy(they are all sweet)and Chant Hare Krishna and be Happy. I hope that's okay for now. If you have any other queries just fire away.

When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

I was given the Baghavad Gita - As it is and immediately found peace in its pages.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

Newcastle - i have not gone to a temple yet as i feel that my path is pretty lonely up till now and i lack the confidence to go alone. i do however know 2 devotees; Deena Krishna and Chaitanya Jivan Das who are from London

hiya My name is Frances and at present i live in Cumbria with my partner, Dale and our 4 dogs & 3 cats! I am disabled, not physically but mentally. I suffer from bi-polar in its severe form and borderline personality disorder. These illness's cause me to lead a very sheltered and ill be honest boring life! My interest in spirituality goes all the way back to my teens, i concentrated mainly on paganism and up till about 6 months ago was a practising pagan but as luck would have it, i got interested in Buddhism. I use freecycle, a place to recycle stuff you no longer want or need. I was able to pick up 25 books all on Buddhism in the east and west. I went about reading many books and finding so much sense in the pages. I then received the Baghavad Gita- As it is from a friend and that was me converted so to speak! i love reading the B.G and find so much love and devotion in its pages. If i feel down i turn to a page and read a verse and after a quiet reflection find clarity and peace. As a result of my new found religion, i have changed as a person. These changes are albeit coming from earlier on whilst studying paganism but nevertheless the feelings have grown stronger since becoming a devotee. I am a more compassionate and giving person, my only goal in life is to see others happy and make sure they have a happy life and i feel that is my connection with Krishna, he gives me the strength to keep going and to bring happiness to all those around me. I am very interested in meeting with local devotees to learn more and discover more beauty in Krishna and i feel making friends with like minded interests would be very beneficial.
