1 cup grated Bottle Gourd (peel off the skin before grating)
1 cup sugar
2 cups whole milk
2 tbsp Ghee/Butter
vanilla essence
blanched almonds for garnishing
Method:
In a pan put the ghee/butter. Add the grated bottle gourd to it and fry till the raw smell and water evaporates. Then add the whole milk to it and cook in a medium flame. After the mixture reduced to half , add sugar. Occasionally stir the mixture till the milk dries out and after that continuously stir it until the halwa leaves the sides of the pan.Add 2 drops of Vanilla essence and remove from the fire. Put the halwa on the serving bowl and garnish it with blanched Almonds.The halwa is ready and with a Tulsi leaf on top you are ready to serve it to Radha-Madhav.
