Besan Sheera

Ingredients

2 tbsp milk+150ml milk+1/4 tsp warm milk

5 tbsp ghee

125 gms gram flour or besan

150 ml water

75 gms castor sugar

2 pinches saffron

4-5 cardamom seeds crushed

5-6 blanched almonds chopped

 

Method

 

1.  Mix 2 tbsp milk with 1 tbsp ghee and rub the mixture  thoroughly into the flour.  Set aside to 10 min then sieve using a coarse sieve.

2.  Heat 4 tbsp ghee in a large frying pan and add the flour.  cook stirring until slightly golden in colour.

3.  In another pan, mix 150 ml milk with water.  Heat gently and add to the flour.  Add sugar and continue cooking and stirring until ghee separates.

4.  Put saffron into a cup with the warm milk and rub till it dissolves, then add to sheera.  Sprinkle cardamom and chopped almonds and serve hot.
