Bengali Dal

Bengal gram (channa dal) 2 cupsTurmeric powder 1 tspWater 3 1/2 cupsCumin seed 1 tspRed chilli whole 4Bay leaves 3Cinnamon 1" pieceCardamom 4Ginger 1" piece choppedGreen chilli 6 slitJaggery 2 tbsp powderedSalt 2 1/2 tspMustard 5 tspHeat oil in a pressure cooker. Add red chillis, Bay leaves, Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamoms, Cumin seeds. Stir for 1/2 minute. Add all the other ingredients, stir and fry for two minutes. Add water. Close the lid and wait for one whistle. Lower the heat for two minutes. When the cooker is cool open and add 1 tbsp ghee.
