    I am trying a lot to chant hare krishna with pure thoughts but I get a lot of bad thoughtd during chanting....can anyone help me out?

      Dandavats Hare Krishna.
      Thanks for the question. I hope you are chanting the pancha-tattva mantra before begining your rounds. What you are going through is very normal. The example given by acharyas is that consider a water pot filled with muddy water (our conciousness). In order to replace the muddy water, we have to continuously pour crystal clear water so that all mud comes out and finally crystal clear water is left. Its a very gradual process and one has to be very patient. The chanting of the holy names is a purificatory process in the beginning.

      My humble suggestion is that dont be bothered by the bad thoughts and please continue chanting while attentively hearing the holy names. Consuming prasadam and associating with devotees will help a lot. Hope this helps. --ys

Radhe Krishna, Today, I visited ISKCON temple, Chennai, India and participated in the Bajan and listened to Gita discourse. I also bought Jaba Beads and pouch. Learned how to Chant Maha Mantra from a guru ji there in the stall. Overall, very very happy and enlightening experience. Just now concluded 2 rounds of Maha mantra chanting.
