  • No one is the cause for our happiness and distress. Only a foolish person thinks that the miseries are given by others. We always enjoy happiness or distress based on our previous karma. So as long as one is embodied, he has to patiently tolerate the results of his past karma and by this way he can get rid of it.”

"Just like how in the midst of thousands of cows, a calf finds its mother accurately, similarly, the reactions of one's past actions, hit the doer without fail."

Whatever karma we do, anywhere we take birth, in whatever species we are in the next life, that reaction of karma - will hit us without fail - just like the calf finding its mother among thousands of cows.

  • Bhagwat Gita describes about 4 types of devotees of God as follows :-

    1) First one are those people who are in distress. In our bad times when we are in distress or when we are going through physical or mental agony, at that time we generally remember & pray to God. Such people devote themselves to God because they wish to be liberated from grief.

    2) Second one are those people who want to know about the God. Such people have faith in God & want to know more about Him. Such people due to their inquisitiveness, debate about the God, read books etc. to know more about the God.

    3) Third one are those people who want to gain wealth in life. There is no end to such people in this world. You can find such people generally in temples etc. asking God to give them wealth, money etc. Such people are those who do their appointed task for money because doing it will bring good fortune to them. So such people are the doers of selfish action in life.

    4) Fourth one are those people who are people of True knowledge and devotion. Such people are really the wise men. They have true knowledge to God. They are the realized sages, who have attained to the stage of reaching the supreme goal.

"Sri Krishna said: All these devotees are undoubtedly magnanimous souls, but he who is situated in devotion to Me, I consider to be just like My own self. Being engaged in My transcendental service, he/she is sure to attain Me, the highest and most perfect goal."

  • One day Krishna asked naradji to make a trip with him to a distant place. After walking several miles all day Krishna said, “narada I ‘m thirsty can you fetch me some water?”

“At once sir” said Narada and rushed off. At a little distance was a village and he knocked at the door of the nearest hut, which was opened by a most beautiful young girl.

“Ah! What divine beauty “, he muttered as he gazed upon her. The girl blushed and lowering her eyes, said in a sweet voice, ”Please do come in Sir, and tell me what can i do for you?”

Like one hypnotized, Narada stepped in and sat down, but could say nothing. He forgot his purpose of coming; he forgot his master was waiting; he forgot everything for one thought: ”What beauty she is, I must have her as my wife and I ‘ll be the happiest person“.

He found many opportunities to talk to her and talk ripened into love. One day he ask her, “Will you marry me?”

The girl blushed softly replied “…. only if my father agrees”

“I ‘ll talk to him right now”, said Narada and rushed inside to meet the old man. Narada sat, rubbed his hands, scratched his head, and then started: “Well sir,… I have a proposal …er… request to you … i ‘d like to ….er.. will you give us your consent…well…your daughter …and…er..I..I mean…”

Old man laughed and said “I understood. If my daughter agrees you ‘ll have my blessings”.

But my son I have a request “after the marriage, please stay here with me” Narada agreed promptly and happily. On an auspicious day Narada was married to the girl and both were immensely happy.

Thus twelve years passed. His father- in law died. Narada inherited his property. He lived as it seemed to him a very happy life with his wife and children, his fields and cattle.

One night he woke up suddenly to a fearful sound. “Oh! That’s thunder”, he said to himself, looking out through the window. “let thunder roar, lighting flash, rain pour, I ‘m safe and dry and happy in my house with my dear wife and lovely children”. And he dropped asleep again.

But his happiness did not last long. Soon there was a flood. The river rose until it overflowed its banks and flooded the whole village. Houses fell, men and animals are swept away and drowned, and everything was floating in the rush of the stream. Narada woke up once again hearing the screams of his children, jumped out of bed and opened the door. The sight that met his eyes turned his face ashen. “O God, O God spare my home”, he cried out but his voice was lost in the gush of water that entered his home.

Narada had to escape. With one hand he held his wife, and with the other two of his children; another child was on his shoulder, and he was trying to ford the tremendous flood. His evil star led him to a wrong place. After a few step she found, the current was too strong, and the child on his shoulder fell and was swept away. A cry of despair came from Narada. In trying to save that child, he lost his grasp upon the other two, and they were also lost. In helpless anger and despair he poured out a volley of oaths. Clinging to each other, husband and wife struggled on.

But alas, his dear wife, whom he clasped with all his might, was also torn away by the cruel current, and he was thrown on the bank weeping in bitter lamentation.

“O,Lord, what have I done that you gave me this punishment? What use is this life to me now?” Narada kept on lamenting, “Kill me too, O cruel one!”

Suddenly there came a gentle voice from behind him: “My child, where’s the water? You went to fetch water and have been gone for half an hour “.

“Half an Hour !! Narada exclaimed heaving himself up on his legs. “Who says this?” he turned to see. “O Lord, YOU! Twelve whole years have passed and all these things have happened and you say half an hour!”

Krishna smiled, “Narada, my son I thought you wanted to know what Maya is; and this is MAYA”

  • OM SAIRAM TO ALL SHIRDI SAI DEVOTEES.

I WOULD LIKE TO REVEAL HOW SHIRDI SAIBABA JI SOLVED MY TOUGH PROPERTY DISPUTE RECENTLY.

MY NAME IS AMIT GUPTA. MY RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS IS FLAT NO. 55, SHUBHAM APARTMENTS, POCKET 4, SECTOR 12, DWARKA, NEW DELHI-110078. IN OCTOBER 2011, WE WANTED TO SELL OUR PROPERTY IN ADARSH NAGAR WHOSE ADDRESS IS D-22, 3rd FLOOR, COTTAGE ROAD, ADARSH NAGAR, DELHI-33. ON 15-10-11, WE ACCEPTED BAYANA PAYMENT FROM THE PURCHASER PARTY WHICH WAS FROM ADARSH NAGAR COLONY ITSELF.

BUT IN DECEMBER 2011, A SHOCKING INCIDENT HAPPENED WITH US. MCD SENT A NOTICE TO OUR ADDRESS IN ADARSH NAGAR DECLARING IT ILLEGALLY AND UNAUTHORISED PROPERTY. THIS NEWS SPREAD LIKE A FIRE IN THE ENTIRE COLONY OF ADARSH NAGAR. THE PURCHASER PARTY WITH WHOM WE HAD FINALISED THE DEAL ALSO CAME TO KNOW ABOUT IT. THEY WERE ALSO SHOCKED TO KNOW THIS. ON 08-01-2012, THEY CAME TO OUR HOME IN DWARKA TO CANCEL THE DEAL AND DEMANDED THEIR BAYANA PAYMENT BACK. WE TRIED OUR BEST TO PERSUADE THEM THAT IT WAS SOME SORT OF MISUNDERSTANDING ONLY AND NOTHING LIKE EVERYONE WAS THINKING. BUT THEY WERE FIRM ON THEIR DECISION TO CANCEL THE DEAL. SO THE DEAL GOT CANCELLED AND WE HAD TO RETURN BACK THEIR PAYMENT TO THEM.

WE WERE HELPLESS ABOUT WHAT TO DO. ONE DAY I DISCUSSED THIS PROBLEM WITH A FRIEND OF MINE IN MY OFFICE WHO IS A TRUE DEVOTEE OF SHIRDI SAIBABA JI. HE TOOK ME TO SHIRDI SAIBABA JI TEMPLE IN NAZAFGARH, DELHI FOR SAI DARSHAN AND ASKED ME TO ORGANISE A SMALL BHANDARA IF BABA WOULD SOLVE MY PROPERTY DISPUTE. I PRAYED TO BABA JI AND VOWED TO ORGANISE A BHANDARA AT ANY TEMPLE IN DELHI IF MY CASE WAS SOLVED.

IN APRIL 2012, WE PRESENTED THE WHOLE MATTER TO MCD OFFICE IN DELHI. MCD ASSURED US TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER PROPERLY AT THE EARLIEST. AFTER SOME DAYS, MCD REACHED TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE LEGAL NOTICE WAS IN FACT NOT MEANT FOR OUR PROPERTY IN ADARSH NAGAR, BUT FOR ANOTHER PROPERTY IN THE STREET NEXT TO OUR STREET IN ADARSH NAGAR COLONY. MCD IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED THE NOTICE SENT TO US. THIS NEWS ALSO SPREAD LIKE FIRE IN WHOLE COLONY. AFTER THAT, WE WERE FLOODED WITH OFFERS TO SELL OUR PROPERTY AND ON 03-05-2012, OUR PROPERTY WAS FINALLY SOLD OUT TO A REPUTED PARTY OF ADARSH NAGAR COLONY ITSELF. WE ALL THANKED OUR SAIBABA JI FOR THIS MIRACLE.

TODAY I BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY THAT IT WAS ONLY THE BLESSINGS OF SHIRDI SAIBABA JI WHICH SOLVED OUR PROPERTY DISPUTE SO SMOOTHLY WHICH WE COULD NEVER DREAM OF.

MAY SAIBABA JI BLESS US ALL!

    OM SAIRAM,
    AMIT GUPTA,
    DWARKA,
    NEW DELHI.

B H A K T I (DEVOTIONAL SERVICE). part 7.

kṛṣṇa-bhakti — abhidheya, sarva-śāstre kayaataeva muni-gaṇa kariyāche niścayaA human being's activities should be centered only on devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa. That is the verdict of all Vedic literatures, and all saintly people have firmly concludeded this. (CC-2:22:5).'nitya-mukta' — nitya kṛṣṇa-caraṇe unmukha'kṛṣṇa-pāriṣada' nāma, bhuñje sevā-sukhaThose who are eternally liberated are always awake to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and they render transcendental loving service at the feet of Lord…

B H A K T I (DEVOTIONAL SERVICE). part 6.

In many places devotional service has been compared to a creeper. One has to sow the seed of the devotional creeper, bhakti-latā, within his heart. As he regularly hears and chants, the seed will fructify and gradually growinto a mature plant and then produce the fruit of devotional service, namely love of Godhead, which the gardener (mālā-kāra)can then enjoy without impediments. (Sri Caitanya Caritamrta). The Lord brought the desire tree of devotional service to this earth and becameits gardener.…
