Modern Day Mentality – Ignorance and Foolishness

  • We have bigger houses, but no room for our parents.
  • We build though houses, but live in broken homes (single parent families).
  • We are quick to start a relationship, but also quick to end it (divorce).
  • We have more conveniences, but still less time.
  • We have more degrees, but less common sense.
  • We have more knowledge, but less judgment.

some say you live in goloka...some say in vrindavana..

but i see you in my heart ...with your divine consort...

your effulgence like sapphire rays..your bright yellow clothes...your peacock feathered crown..your lotus like eyes..your bimba fruit lips..by seeing your beauty i imagine, that how could one get attracted to someone other than you...

your lotus feet are my only shelter...your sight is my only hope..prays your humble servant kamal, may i always remain merged in your thoughts.....

RAMANUJACHARYA Appearance

RAMANUJACARYA (1017-1137) was the principal acharya in the Sri sampradaya, one of
the four main lines of Vaisnava teachers and disciples. His Vedanta-sutra commentary -
Sri-bhasya establishes the doctrine known as Vasistadvaita, “qualified nondualism.”
A staunch proponent of the philosophy of pesonalism, he taught that although the
Supreme Lord and the individual souls are qualitatively one, there is still a difference
between them, for the Lord is infinite and the living entities are infinitesimal.

Association of devotees is to strive to hear from and to give pleasure to those who have the great treasure of love of God. Narottam Das Thakur in his prayers to the departed Vaisnavas, he prays in this way - he is beating his head against the rock in separation, longing for the association of those devotees who have, who had that great treasure of Prema Bhakti within their hearts, within their lives and who are distributing the contents of that treasure to the world. He is longing for such asso

A research done in England found that a baby smiles 400 times a day, an adolescent 17 times and an adult doesn't smile at all!  The more successful one keeps a very stiff face.  Is roughness a sign of success?  Is being stressed a sign of prosperity, growth or dignity?

You should smile more.  Every day, every morning, look at the mirror and give a good smile to yourself.  You know what happens when you smile?  All the muscles in your face get relaxed.  The nerves in your brain get relaxation,

There’s an alarming trend: People who have had some degree of good fortune and success tend to lose their humility and become at least slightly arrogant. This is very unfortunate for many reasons. First, and most obviously, no one really wants to be around someone who is arrogant or self-absorbed. It’s boring, and it’s annoying! Arrogance implies a lack of gratitude. The assumption is, “I did this all by myself; it’s all about me.”

Factors such as our good karma, Lord’s blessings and so on are fo

Servant or Master?

Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, gopi-bhartuh pada-kamalayor
dasa-dasa-dasanudasah: "I am the servant of the servant of the servant
of Krsna [Cc. Madhya 13.80]." This is called parampara system. You
have to learn how to become servant of the servant of Krsna. The more
you become in the lower position -- servant, servant, servant,
servant, servant, hundreds times servant, servant -- then more you are
advanced. Here in this material world everyone is trying to be master
of the master. Just opposite. And

Science of Krishna

This Krsna consciousness movement, don't think that it is a sectarian
religious system, no. It is a science, the science of Krsna. Try to
understand the science of Krsna. We have got so many books to educate
people about this science, not that simply we are talking
sentimentally. Everything is scientific reason, philosophy. But the
simple method is so easy to perform that anyone can understand very
easily. What is that? Sarva-dharman parityajya... What Krsna says, you
accept.

Then you will unde

Do I Have to Leave My Family?

Question: Do I Have to Leave My Family?

I would now like to bring your attention to a question which creates confusion in my mind. If a person has some love for Krishna and always remembers Him, while apologizing for every sin and expressing gratitude for all that Krishna has given him, but alongside he is also trying to fulfill his responsibilities towards his parents and spouse--is it really necessary and justified that he leave everything except for Krishna?  After all it was Krishna who arran

Visit to Australia

Saturday, 8 May 1971- Kuala Lumpur

The devotees were amazed to discover that Srila Prabhupada had no visa to visit Australia.

Amogha: All that needed to be done was that the Indian embassy had to give some stamp of permission, and the Australian consulate had to issue a visa. Prabhupada was due to fly out that night. But it was Saturday morning, and all the embassies were closed. It was very hectic. Finally, Gopal dasa went to the homes of the right persons and convinced them to

Radha and Krishna appear

On 3 May, Vegavan, still marvelling at his good fortune, found himself at Bombay airport, ready to accompany Srila Prabhupada on his long trip to Sydney, via Malaysia. The Radha-Krsna Deities had been tightly wrapped in cloth. Krsna had been placed in a crate and was loaded into the luggage hold. Vegavan, carefully carrying Srimati Radharani under one arm and Prabhupada's small white attache case in the other, checked in and proceeded to Immigration. But there he encounte

Some men would fall

One day Chris was shocked to find Tirthapada packing his bags, ready to leave the temple. Despite his best attempts, Chris could not convince Tirthapada to stay. What was the problem? Tirthapada explained how he had stopped chanting, and, troubled by sex desire, had decided to live outside the temple, but he still planned to attend temple functions. Tirthapada left, promising to attend the temple regularly. He visited, just once. "You forget," he said.

Chris remembered Upendra'

Early days

Bill had been living in the temple now for several months. It seemed obvious that he was serious about advancing in Krsna consciousness. Quiet but sincere, he was eager to serve. Bali-mardana decided to recommend him for initiation. Soon Bill received his initiation beads duly chanted on by Srila Prabhupada, and his new name -- Upananda dasa brahmacari.

As was his habit, Upendra regularly had questions for Srila Prabhupada. Now that there were boys and girls living together in the same
