Let us hear from HG Ambarish Das and Svaha Devi Dasi as they reaffirm the Purpose #5 of ISKCON. They are instrumental in the overseeing and construction of “The Temple of Vedic Planetarium (TOVP)”.

 

About Ambarish Das and Svaha Devi Dasi

Ambarisa das was initiated by Srila Prabhupada in 1974 in Hawaii. He is the great-grandson of Henry Ford, and has been involved in numerous ISKCON projects around the world including the Bhaktivedanta Cultural Center in Detroit, the Oxford Center for Hindu Studies at Oxford University, and Srila Prabhupada’s Pushpa Samadhi in Sridham Mayapur.

Ambarisa das sits on the board of several businesses, charitable institutions and Foundations, including the Ford Motor Company Fund. He has received awards from around the world for his charitable works and support of Vedic culture. In 1976, Srila Prabhupada personally requested that Ambarisa prabhu help finance the construction of the Temple of Vedic Planetarium.
He holds very deep spiritual values and has undertaken to see the construction of the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur, West Bengal, India to fruition. This temple is anticipated to become one of the wonders of the world. It will be the largest temple in the world hosting more than 10 million visitors a year. A special feature is the unique harmony between science and religion. This 700-acre ISKCON temple complex will become a World Heritage Center, a new grand temple and educational institutions that will impart not just science and humanities but spiritual knowledge and values, ethics and morals, too. The grand project is expected to be readied by the year 2022.

He also serves as Director of the Ford Family Office Group, USA and Director of The Mayapur Foundation, India. Mr Ford is also a Board member and Co-owner of CHANNELNET LLC, a Californian based Technology Company specializing in the design and production of IT Systems for Fortune 500 companies.

Continuing the legacy of his great-grandfather, Mr Ford and his wife, Svaha Devi Dasi (Dr Sharmila Bhattacharya, PhD), are visionary entrepreneurs and philanthropists too with particular interests in Global Health, particularly in the developing world. He serves as Vice-Chairman to the Josephine Ford Cancer Center at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Mr Ford serves on Boards of numerous Charitable Institutions.
