Vrindavan Flood

Every so often Yamunaji floods her banks. This year (2010) the flood was very severe and many people suffered by being inundated with water. Suffering was made worse by the fact that food prices were already at a very high rate and most locals relied upon cheaper locally grown foodstuffs. However, when travelling around the flooded area there was no panic or frustration and everyone seemed to accept their lot without complaint.

Above is a collection of pics of the flood. There are some pics of children jumping into the Yamuna and swimming in her waters which is rare as far as news coverage goes. The residents of the Holy Dham are fairly resilient to such conditions and take them as an act of God…
