TV in Halifax by Bhaktimarga Swami

It’s good to be back on television again. Not since 2017, the summer, when I did my U.S. Walk did, I have had much opportunity to get on the TV camera. This morning it was Global TV that interviewed Savyasachin and me with host Paul Brothers, as we talked about the weekend Chariot Fest.

I was introduced with my Sanskrit name and the more common “The Walking Monk.” And after Savya gave details of what’s to come with the fest at Citadel Hill, and my pilgrimage ventures, it was Paul who started to talk about George Harrison, My Sweet Lord and Hare Krishna. He asked about the meaning of mantra and it’s meaning. I volunteered to say that the mantra is an appeal to the universe as Divine Father and Divine Mother and to joyfully serve humanity, the world and its Source.

Within minutes of my composing today’s blog, we will see what was done in the editing room with the interview which is to be broadcast on 13th morning and evening. Anyway, Paul was great. He even informed us of a friend of his running across Canada in 99 days, raising funds for heart research. Off the set, Paul asked me to send a message to Ryan Keeping who is doing this marathon.

With the interview over Savyasachin suggested we go to Halifax’s Harbourfront to get a little walking in. It is an appealing promenade, for sure. One fisherman spotted us from the distance and yelled out, “I like the clothes” referring to the monk’s attire. That began a conversation and a promo, or an invite to the Chariot Fest for this Saturday and Sunday. It’s more personal than TV.
