Ambika Kalna is an historic town for Gaudiya Vaisnavas. Situated 70 kilometers from Sri Mayapura Dhama it is the place where Lord Nityananda married Jahnava mata and her sister Vasudha.
Just down the street is the home of Gauri das Pandit where Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda once visited to take prasadam. Gauri das Pandit's famous Gaura Nitai deities are still being worshipped there. Local tradition says that in the temple is a copy Bhagavad Gita written by the hand of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
