An Official ISKCON Statement and accompanying report from a world-renowned expert in toxicology that refute allegations that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned, were released today by the ISKCON Communications Ministry and the Executive Committee of the ISKCON Governing Body Commission.

Summary of the Statement

“In a critically important report prepared earlier this year, world-renowned toxicologist Professor Nikolas Lemos has strongly disputed the allegations that Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), was poisoned by some of his senior disciples in 1977.

After many months spent reviewing the scientific evidence behind these longstanding allegations, Dr. Lemos concluded that they are unsubstantiated from medical, toxicological, and forensic perspectives. As he writes in the report, “the case for poisoning completely fails the test of science.”
