The ISKCON Nepal family has offered heartfelt gratitude to Lord Krishna following the miraculous rescue of devotee Sanjay Sah, who survived nine days trapped inside the flooded Trishuli 3A hydropower tunnel after the devastating flash flood that struck Nepal on August 26, 2026.
Against all expectations, Sanjay was rescued alive on Sri Krishna Janmashtami, September 4, 2026—a day devotees are celebrating as a special sign of the Lord’s mercy.
What has touched devotees around the world even more is Sanjay’s own testimony after his rescue. According to Nepalese news reports, he said that throughout the nine days inside the tunnel, he continuously chanted the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra, believing that Krishna protected and sustained him during the ordeal.
For the ISKCON community, Sanjay’s survival is a powerful reminder of the shelter found in the Holy Name, especially in times of great danger and uncertainty.
The devotees of ISKCON Nepal continue to pray for all those affected by the tragic floods and offer their gratitude to Lord Krishna for this remarkable Janmashtami miracle.
