Sukadeva Gosvami continued: My dear King, the chanting of the holy name of the Lord is able to uproot even the reactions of the greatest sins. Therefore the chanting of the sankirtana movement is the most auspicious activity in the entire universe. Please try to understand this so that others will take it seriously.

महाराज परीक्षित ने पहले समस्त ऋषियों तथा बाद में श्री शुकदेव गोस्वामी जी से भी यही प्रश्न पूछा : सभी परिस्थियों में हर एक प्राणी के कर्तव्य व विशेष रूप से जो तुरंत मरने वाला हो, उस प्राणी के कर्तव्य के विषय में बतलाने को कहा (SB.1.19.24) | श्री शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: हे राजन प्रत्येक मनुष्य सर्वत्र तथा सर्वदा भगवान के नाम का श्रवण करे, गुणगान करे तथा स्मरण करे (SB.2.2.36) | यही सनातन या भागवत धर्म है | धर्म के जिन सिद्धान्तों से पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान को वास्तव में समझा जा सकता है, वह भागवत धर्म कहलाता है (SB.7.10.45)
