Manthan'18 - Youth Cultural Event

As Delhi went under a spell of monsoon this July, Yadukula hosted it's annual cultural evening- Manthan 2018- on the 29th of July. This event was conducted with immense enthusiasm and excitement by young practitioner devotees - most of whom are part of the cultural youth community, Yadukula- from different parts of Delhi/NCR.

At this year’s Manthan, we witnessed a packed charter of performances in the form of a full-fledged four hour show. The show was initiated by lighting the lamp of auspiciousness by Gurus and teachers from various fields of performing arts. As the audience settled in for the show, anticipation filled the 500-seater auditorium, and sacred hymns from the Vedas were recited to sanctify the premise and invoke piety at the beginning of the show. The audience was raptured with each of the performing art pieces- from Vedic classical dance forms to musical performances. Oddissi, Thumri, Bharatnatayam, Carnatic classical music, and a charismatic Mridanga show; as each of these pieces were showcased, the common thread of our Vedic heritage clearly shone throughout the show.  The performances on stage depicted Vedic India in all its glory and magnanimity and simultaneously inspired everybody in the audience to acknowledge the grandeur of the Vedic culture.

The finale for the evening was a larger than life, thriller of a theatrical performance, “Your Next Life”. This dramatic display showed the lead character, via a series of events, flit through some of his previous lives and understand the laws of karma first hand.

With a full-house auditorium, more than 500 people were a part of this beautiful cultural evening organized by Yadukula under the guidance and leadership of HG Kratu Das Ji Maharaj, a Srila Prabhupada disciple. HG Kratu Das Maharaj is one of the present initiating spiritual masters of ISKCON and has disciples in India, Dubai, America, Canada and many other places around the world. He is the author of the book 'Sadhu Sanga' which is a compilation of evidences and proves from the scriptures as well as his life experiences to establish the importance of association of Vaishnavas and devotees. His permanent abode is in Sri Dham Vrindavan while he visits various places throughout the year for constant preaching activities.

Yadukula is a cultural community, spreading the movement of Krishna consciousness through the mediums of art, culture, and lifestyle. The Yadukulis come from all kinds of backgrounds, ranging from managers of multi-generation businesses to professionals such as doctors, lawyers, teachers, corporate sector employees etc. Apart from conducting their weekly philosophical discourses through their Vedic study club, Yadukula keeps culture and community at the core of all that it does, through engaging people into Bhakti yoga via the performing arts such as Music, Dance, and Theatre.
