I chant on my meditation beads. I viewed a film, 1917. What a masterpiece of a movie! And watching history!
I contemplated my visits to Durban. Over the years, it has been nothing short of bliss occasions. There is an element of sadness in all of these ventures. When I first visited Durban and participated in the festival's, I had the company of peers such as Bhakti Tirtha Swami, Bhakti Charu Swami, and Kadamba Kanana Swami. In those twenty years, they passed away. We no longer have their company. Each one of those individuals were incredible powerhouses.
What are we left with?
The answer?
A group of mighty students, some who are now marvellous teachers or gurus. There are many great potential teachers also that need to be recognized. There is not only an absence, a great loss of the three saints mentioned above, but others who were of seniority status, and who have also passed away, being pioneers of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Bless all those who have moved on.
