What does Self-Realization Mean?

What does self-realization mean in the Bhagavad-Gita? At its core, it means recognizing that the real self is not the temporary material body, the flickering mind, societal roles, or the false ego. The Gita teaches that the Jivatma (the individual spirit soul) is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss, and its constitutional position is to be in an enduring, loving relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna.

This is not simply a theor

“According to Vedic civilization, the perfection of life is to realize one’s relationship with Kṛṣṇa, or God.… All living entities are parts and parcels of God. The parts are meant for serving the whole, just as the legs, hands, fingers, and ears are meant for serving the total body. We living entities, being parts and parcels of God, are duty-bound to serve Him.”
