Dear Devotees,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the tragic passing away of His Grace Gopiparanadhana Prabhu.

He was a leading disciple of Srila Prabhupada who served him faithfully since joining ISKCON in the early 1970's. Whatever service he did in Srila Prabhupada's movement he gave his whole heart to, although he is best known for his translating and commenting on different Vedic scriptures following in the foo

Gopiparanadhana Prabhu and Mandakini dd (translator) in Questions and Answers tent at Festival of India in Mielno, Poland, on August 26, 2011

I always like to write something in glorification of devotees I have even a little relationship with when they pass away. I guess I see it as a final service I can render to them. For me I got to know and appreciate Gopiparanadhana Prabhu much more than ever before in late August just this year when I joined the last four days of Indradyumna Swami's F

2514845272?profile=originalDear Gopiparanadhana Prabhu,

Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It was with great sadness that I learned yesterday of your sudden departure from this world. Just weeks ago we were together on the festival tour in Poland. I considered it special mercy that you had joined us and that we could have your extended association for some time. As always, I listened in amazement to your deep and philosophical morning Bhagavatam classes, and marveled at how you touch

I was shocked to learn this morning that my old friend and colleague Gopiparanadhana Prabhu had left his body suddenly at Govardhana. Just a few days ago I sent him a chapter of his Laghu-bhagavatamrta translation I had been reviewing — and now he’s gone. What a loss for our Society and the world! He was a pure and vastly learned Vaisnava who impressed everyone with his firm faith in and loyalty to Srila Prabhupada and his movement, his genuine humility, his warm and open personality, and hi

Another Honorable Spiritual Son of Srila Prabhupada is no longer among us.

There is reciprocal love between Srila Prabhupada's disciples and their eternal spiritual father. This love is demonstrated in various ways. In one case it is demonstrated with service to Srila Prabhupada until the last day. By constantly preaching, mentoring, writing all the while maintaining sadhana and renunciation. Such is the  love of Gopiparanadhana Prabhu.

There is sometimes a misconception that a bunch of hipp

2514845297?profile=originalI first met Gopiparanadhana Prabhu in 1979 in LA. We spent time together here in Bangalore from 1981-83 while he was working on the translation of the rest of the Bhagavatam. Over the years we had a nice friendship. He didn’t have a mean bone in his whole body and was incapable of offending any one; he had such humility and kindness in him.

Ironically today my wife and I had lunch at a devotee friend’s house. We had recommended that they read the Brhad Bhagavatamrta translated by Gopiparanadhana

Maharaja explained how even though HG Gopipranadhana Prabhu was the most super-excellent scholar, he was the most humble person, always ready to offer ALL respects to every devotee and NOT expecting and honor from anyone. These are just some of his wonderful Vaishnava character.

Maharaja lamented how, IS

My dear godbrother Gopipranadana Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Let start by offering my obeisances to him. Srila Prabhupada said that living and dying in the dham is the same. He left from Govardhan and went back to Spiritual world. His destination is auspicious. Of this we can rejoice. At the same time loosing him suddenly like this leaves us in separation and is a big lost. My last meeting with him was in the month of April 2011 at Vrinda Kunda.

2514845215?profile=originalI remember Gopiparanadhana prabhu from when he moved into the Henry Street, Brooklyn Temple.

From the beginning he was sober, serious, focused and a very nice devotee.

He made many lasting contributions to Srila Prabhupada's mission and he will not be forgotten.

Gopiparanadhana prabhu ki jaya!

2514845143?profile=originalI just received the most disturbing news that our Godbrother, Gopiparanadhana prabhu left his body a few hours ago here in Govardhan. I don't know anything else but am headed over there now and will meet Pancagauda prabhu and others. I will report more as soon as I knowаа I've just returned from his house, which is next door to Iskcon Govardhan Mandir. I will give a short report here and in the comment below as told by his wife. He was seen early in the morning and was 'fine'. One devotee was wa

The charms of Vrindaban thy heart regale, unknown the wheel of time doth roll !!

He reasons ill who tells that Vaishnavas die when thou art living still in sound.

The Vaishnavas die to live and living try to spread a holy life around !!

Now let the candid man that seeks to live follow thy way on shores of time,

then posterity sure to him will give Like one song in simple rhyme!

2514845191?profile=originalJust now returned at 7:00 PM from the funeral ceremony of our beloved Godbrother Sriman Gopiparanadhana Prabhu at Govardhana. They bade his body at about 3:00 PM; offered bhoga and arati to him and with the kirtan procession carried his body on the Govardhana Parikrama marg, passed by Manasi Ganga, to the cremation place. Many local residents, especially in the first beginning stretch, were stepping out of their shop or home and offering their humble respect to him.

At the cremation place they l

God and His representatives have the compassionate habit of turning up at that precarious moment when they are least wanted by the ruling miscreants! Being the possessor of multifarious inconceivable energies (‘parasya shaktir vividhaiva shruyate’), Krishna is able to subdue the demonic class (‘vinashaya ca dushkrtam’) by His ‘bala shakti’ and re-establish the principles of religion (‘dh

DAMODARA PANDITA DASA GIVES AN INTERESTING TAKE ON KAMSA IN THE CONTEXT OF JANMASHTAMI WHICH FALLS ON MONDAY.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by a disconnection between ones thoughts, feelings and actions. 'Skhizo', in Greek, means split and 'phren'means mind - the mind is split between discordant thoughts, emotions and activities. Kamsa, the valiant coward lived in the fear of death

img21.mob.jpgAsk yourself the question, "Was Kamsa really scared of death?" And be sure to hear the tyrant roar with laughter in the grave. Death can never scare a 'kshatriya' because his principles are more vital to his existence than just protecting a physical body.

A valiant warrior never accepts victory without its price tag - heroic fighting! For him, bodily death is secondary to th
