Promoting harmony: President of ISKCON local chapter Swami Satya Gopinathdas Prabhu releasing the poster of the Bhagavadgita contest in Rajahmundry on Thursday. —Rajahmundry: President of ISKCON’s local chapter and member of the regional governing body Swami Satya Gopinathdas Prabhu has announced that a State-level Bhagavadgita contest will be held for students in December.Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the contest would be held in three phases for students from classes 6 to PG.“The slogan for the contest is ‘modern problems and ancient solutions’. It will be conducted separately for schools and colleges,” he said, adding that the aim was to inculcate in students self discipline and spiritual values.The contest would be conducted on December 13 for coastal Andhra region. For Telangana region, it would be held on December 20. It would be held on December 27 for Rayalaseema region.It would be held at the district headquarters.Participants would have to answer some 100 multiple choice questions that carry 100 marks and a 500-word essay on the essence of Bhagavadgita.At the State-level, the first prize carries a cash prize of Rs. 54,000 while it would be Rs. 5,000 at the district level. The second prize would be Rs.27,000 and Rs.3,000 and the third prize Rs.13,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively.Entry feeThe entry fee is Rs.150. ISKCON will gift Bhagavadgita (worth Rs.200) freely.
