First Padayatra Ministry Meeting at the newly inaugurated Lok Archives Office in Sri Pandharpur Dham.
In a significant milestone for the ISKCON Padayatra movement, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami, Global Minister for Padayatra, convened a strategic and heartfelt meeting with key leaders and stakeholders on July 5, 2025. The gathering took place at the newly inaugurated Lok Archives Office in Sri Pandharpur Dham, a serene and spiritually charged venue.
The Padayatra Ministry extends heartfelt gratitude to Pandhurang Vitthal Das, in-charge of Lok Archives, for graciously providing the space for this important meeting and supporting the mission with such warmth.
Prominent attendees included Acharya Das, who has led the All India Padayatra for the past 16 years, Damodhar Lila Das from Maharashtra Padayatra, Radhika Vallabh Das from Punjab Padayatra, and Stoka Krishna Gopa Das, Managing Director of the ISKCON Padayatra Ministry. The meeting also featured the beloved Jaya Bhadra Devi Dasi, affectionately regarded as the mother of all Padayatris, along with numerous committed Padayatris and supporters from across the country.
Celebrating a Legacy of Devotion on Foot
The meeting commenced with an offering of deep gratitude to the Padayatris, who have collectively walked more than 300,000 kilometers across the Indian subcontinent, equivalent to seven complete circumambulations of the nation. Over the past four decades, Padayatra has become a powerful vehicle for spiritual outreach, bringing the teachings of Srila Prabhupada and the divine presence of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai to even the most remote corners of Bharat.
The movement, originally inspired by the vision of Srila Prabhupada and pioneered by Lokanath Swami, has expanded tremendously under the steady leadership of Acharya Das. His dedication to training and empowering local leaders has helped establish thriving regional Padayatras in states such as Maharashtra, Punjab, and Odisha, with activity now present across nearly all states of India. Through continuous bhakti, sankirtan, and selfless service, Padayatris have ensured that Krishna’s holy names continue to resound across the land.
