When Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami walked forward to receive his award at a peace conclave in Mumbai, the MC did something unexpected: she chanted the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
For many in the room — global leaders, philanthropists, Nobel Peace Laureates, and peace advocates gathered from across the world — it may have been the first time they heard Krishna’s name chanted in that way: loudly over the microphone in a formal peace gathering, with the MC inviting everyone to raise their hands as she chanted. For the devotees present, it was a powerful reminder of Srila Prabhupada’s desire that the holy name be heard in every town, village, and gathering place.
Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami, a monk, musician, and teacher serving within ISKCON as Kirtan Minister, Padayatra Minister, and GBC Deputy, received the I Am Peacekeeper Champion Justice and Peace Award at the Billionaires for Peace Conclave, held on May 21, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai. The event, themed “Peace Meets Purpose and Progress,” was described in official event material as a gathering of 280 global peace changemakers, including five Nobel Peace Laureates, 40 Champion Awardees, 40 Billionaire Patrons, and participants from the fields of business, education, philanthropy, arts, athletics, mediation, and social work.
The awards program — titled I Am Peacekeeper Champion Awards 2026, with the theme “Power, Purpose, Peace” — was organized by Helpline and connected with the I Am Peacekeeper Movement, founded by Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director of Wockhardt Limited. According to official event material, the program included 12 award categories, with awards presented by Nobel Peace Laureates. Among those listed in event materials were Honorable Kailash Satyarthi, Honorable Leymah Roberta Gbowee, Honorable Houcine Abassi, Honorable Prof. Mohan Munasinghe, and His Excellency José Manuel Ramos-Horta, who participated by Zoom.
