Kamalini Devi Dasi, with her husband, Apurva Dasa, shares new details from her escape from their car surrounded by flood waters.
On Tuesday, July 8th, ISKCON News reported on the miraculous escape of Kamalini Devi Dasi, a longtime ISKCON educator and servant, whose car was rapidly overtaken by floodwaters after heavy rainfall in North Carolina.
This weekend, she shared a video with ISKCON News, offering a firsthand account of the terrifying experience and reflecting on the deeper spiritual context, particularly the recent Rasa-Cintamani Retreat she attended at her home community, ISKCON New Goloka.
In the aftermath of the incident, friend and fellow devotee Campakalata Fiorentino quickly organized a GoFundMe campaign to help replace the vehicle lost in the flood. The campaign has since raised over $30,000 from 250 of Kamalini’s friends and well-wishers around the world.. “I wanted to express my deep, deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support for me,” said Kamalini.
