Simply engage yourself in Krishna's service. That will protect you from any attack of maya. Maya can takeKrishna's place in our heart as soon as there is a slackness on our part. Otherwise, if Krishna's seated always, maya has no opportunity to occupy the seat.

What you said is true. Nama Japa is such a sharp weapon that it goes straight deep into Mayavi Illusions wound around our soul. It cuts through all layers very fast. About five years back my soul was full of all such illusions about life, I was no less than an animal and doing all those four things Shrila Prabhupad used to say. But no sooner I started Nama Japa, all these are running away so fast that even I wonder. I left eating tobacco which I was doing since over 35 years just in a day and very effortlessly. Tea, Coffee, all disappeared. I was controlled by thoughts of sex, but now I myself can't find traces of the thoughts. I atleast have courage to accept mistakes because I started realising that they are mistakes. I am positive 100 % that all my ill illusions, bad habits Kama, Krodha, Mad, Moh, Lobha, Matsar will vanish into thin air in the times to come by doing simply the Nama Japa. I prey Krsna to have mercy on me and let me do his Nama Japa without hinderance from Maya Devi, o that I may become 100% pure. Please never leave your seat Thakurji from my heart. I prey to Maya Devi also that please I am in love with Lord Krsna, so help me in cleansing my heart so that Krsna will glance at me.
It is a mission of mine to stress this, as I know many people turn away when they think they have to do so much, and do it without offense, or there will be "trouble". Lord Krishna needs nothing, so if you are performing a service or offering to Him, and you do it incorrectly, but have pure love in your heart and the best intent, He will accept your attempt as if it were perfect! When you keep up on your chant, your service WILL become more perfect. You won't even need to try. Lord Krishna will give you the ability!
