(I joined ISKCON in Honolulu, November 1971, when Gaurasundara dasa and Govinda dasi were there. I was a bit obstreperous, so I didn't get initiated by Srila Prabhupada until January 1974 (in San Juan, Puerto Rico) at a time when almost anyone who had been in the temple for six months was automatically initiated)
