कैसा माया का देखो रे परदा पड़ा

दुःख को ही मूढ़ा सुःख मान चला

द्वारे - द्वारे भटके सब ओर

मरुथल में ढूंढे सागर का छोर

Purport: We have been blinded and have been made so much fool by Maya that our mind has started believing this illusionary world as real and sense gratification as the only purpose of our life. We are wandering here and there, from one source of sense gratification to other in search of pleasure and this situation of ours is that of a fool who is trying to search an ocean in the desert.

है मन चञ्चल, विचलित, प्यासा

भीतर है सुःख की अभिलाषा

हे मूढ़मती क्यूँ जाने ना

सुःख सिंधु को पहचाने ना

Purport: Our mind is flickering and our soul is restless for it is in search of that absolute source of peace and happiness whose it was once part of. But being befuddled due to our limited and foolish mind we are unable to see through the situation and realize the truth.

क्षण भंगुर सुःख को है प्यासा

तोड़े ना जन्मों का पाशा

ये दुर्लभ जीवन जाये बिरथा

भजले रे मन राधे कृष्णा।

Purport: At present we are yearning for the sensual pleasures which are temporary, incomplete and are bound to cease after some duration or with the end of this body. Because of our desires we are trapped in the cycle of death and birth. Among 8.4 million species of living things this human form of life is very rare and this is our only chance to break through this cycle of birth and death. That’s why we must realize this truth and chant Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare, so that we can attain that ultimate source, of whom we all are part of.
