Several hours north of our ISKCON temple in Mayapura is Murshidabad where the ancestral home of Ganga Narayana Chakravarti is found. Ganga Narayana Chakravarti was one of the chief disciples of Srila Narottam das Thakur. Both Narottam and Ganga Narayana's sacred samadhi's are there, as well as the famous pure gold Gauranga deity that Narottam das Thakur installed during the famous Keturi festival some 450 years ago.
Our party of 200 devotees delivered two beautiful paintings of Srila Narottam das Thakur and Ganga Narayana Chakravarti to the small temple in the house and had katha and blissful kirtan for many hours. To my great delight the pujari asked me to offer the noon arotika to the deity of Lord Gauranga. It was one of the highlights of my devotional career.
