Iskcon Governing Body Commission (GBC) Meet for the first time is happening in Iskcon Kanpur. Spiritual Leaders from all over the world, from America to Europe to China to Africa to Asia to Australia to Russia, everyone has come together to transform this small temple of Kanpur into a true United Nations. The GBC Meeting commenced on the 15th of October and will last till the 21st of October. The last time Iskcon Kanpur hosted the global spiritual leaders at this magnitude was during its opening ceremony in the year 2014.
The GBC members meet twice a year, once in Mayapur (spiritual headquarters) and the second time in another place. This year the meet during the latter half of the year, is being hosted by Iskcon Kanpur, while the former was hosted by Iskcon Mayapur. Iskcon Kanpur is a growing centre with over 80% of the members being the youth. The Director and an inspirational leader Devakinandan Das humbly invited the spiritual leaders to Iskcon Kanpur promising them a unique experience, and living up to everyone’s expectations the leaders and the local youth are having an enriching experience together. Along with his team, Devakinandan Das, ushered and welcomed every guest with a warm heart and has ensured their safety and wellbeing. The temple president, Prem Harinama Das along with Radha Ranjan Das and Amritesh Krishna Das and a group of young devotees have been working relentlessly to ensure the success of this Meet.
‘With great power comes great responsibility’- acknowledging the gravity of that statement GBC members from the word ‘go’ have been discussing in details the future prospects of spirituality and practicing spirituality. With respect to the global issues and trends, the spiritual aspect also needs to be kept as a constant in human lives. The world would truly benefit if the people would get a higher spiritual taste, the love of God, in a bonafide way. Hence in this particular Meet, the global leaders are focusing on attaining a peaceful, blissful and a sustainable future with a spiritual synergy.
The Meetings set in motion by 10am, prior to which the youth seek guidance and the valuable association of the senior dignitaries to enlighten and inspire them. Thereafter the Meet, the evening session everyday works like a spiritual boost where the leaders and the local congregation members convene together joyfully in euphoric Kirtan sessions.
The spiritual Leaders and Iskcon Kanpur devotees are all set for an energetic, effervescent, frolicsome, enlightening and spiritually symbiotic experience for the next few days!
