Friday September 3rd, a few of Srila Prabhupada’s disciples were called for a meeting in HDGs room in the lotus building
These beautiful gifts were lovingly presented to the assembled direct disciples of HDG, and the details were explained. The project is called “Give Prabhupad”
Melted into the brass murti is an alloy containing coins received directly on book distribution around the world. (Fortunately we had some coins from book distribution in sridham mayapur that we were able to contribute for future castings)
The box/travel altar is a work of love and art
The devotees received the box and it had their names embossed as it was written at the time of initiation, as far as possible.
The box has the exact replica of Srila Prabhupada’s Janmastan neem tree with 108 leaves and the trunk is actually the exact topographical map of the confluence of jalangi and ganga rivers. Amazing ….
The back of the box has a beautiful inscription, a promise from Srila Prabhupada ….
Sliding off the cover, a beautiful little altar is revealed with photos and the most exquisite murti of Srila Prabhupada wrapped in a lovingly hand stitched cover.
This gift from the Moscow Sangha brought tears to our eyes 💕
And its recipients are every single disciple of Srila Prabhupada, still on the planet, wherever they are.
So much mercy …..
Srila Prabhupada Murti Gift For All Of Srila Prabhupada’s Early Disciples Initiated by Nov. 14 / 1977
Alloyed into the brass of those lifelike murtis of Srila Prabhupada were coins donated by regular people for Srila Prabhupada’s books in the streets of Moscow.
The murtis are complete with a uniquely designed travel box/altar and a personal and endearing message from Srila Prabhupada, as a token of ISKCON’s appreciation for their precious lives dedicated to Srila Prabhupada’s service.
The project was launched, quite appropriately, on August 27, Srila Prabhupada’s appearance day, at his birth site in Kolkata.
