On February 22nd-23rd, 2025, Mandakini Devi Dasi, the author of the children’s book Nimai’s Adventures, will offer a virtual camp for children online. Mandakini Publications’ free, interactive camp is designed to immerse young hearts in the extraordinary life and teachings of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
This two-day camp promises to be a blend of fun, learning, and devotion. Activities include storytelling sessions that dive into the enchanting pastimes of Lord Chaitanya, crafts and hands-on activities that connect kids with Mahaprabhu’s stories, devotional music and prayers through bhajan and shloka learning, and interactive games and skits to bring spiritual teachings to life. Children will also participate in japa and kirtan sessions to cultivate a love for the Holy Name and explore the glories of Sridham Mayapur, Mahaprabhu’s sacred birthplace.
Mandakini Devi Dasi shared, “My book, Nimai’s Adventures – Part 1 was the main inspiration behind this initiative. Seeing the enthusiasm and joy children have as they read the book motivated me to take it a step further by creating a virtual camp where we could explore Mahaprabhu’s life on a more personal level. My spiritual master, His Holiness Subhag Swami Maharaj, has always been my greatest inspiration, and his guidance constantly pushes me to do more to serve the next generation.”
The camp is designed to be conducted on the widely accessible Zoom platform, making it possible for children from all corners of the globe to participate. This virtual format ensures that geographical boundaries are no obstacle to learning and allows young participants to join in from the comfort of their own homes. By leveraging technology, the camp aims to create a global community of young minds eager to explore the teachings and pastimes of Mahaprabhu.
Mandakini will personally lead the sessions, which will present a special opportunity for her to connect with her young readers. For many children, this will be their first chance to meet Mandakini directly. Even those who are unfamiliar with her book, Nimai’s Adventures, are warmly encouraged to join. Mandakini is eager to welcome every child with open arms, ensuring that each participant feels valued and included from the very beginning.
At the heart of this initiative is the desire to nurture a personal connection with Mahaprabhu’s teachings in a way that feels relevant and meaningful. Mandakini hopes to provide a space where children can freely express their thoughts, ask questions, and immerse themselves in the timeless lessons of love, compassion, and devotion. By fostering such an atmosphere, the camp aspires to plant the seeds of spiritual growth and understanding in young hearts, empowering them to carry the values of Mahaprabhu into their daily lives with confidence and joy. “This is a warm, child-friendly environment where learning about Mahaprabhu is fun and personal,” emphasized Mandakini.
Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the most merciful incarnation of Lord Krishna, has left a profound legacy of love, devotion, and compassion. Introducing children to His life helps nurture their spiritual foundation. Mandakini Devi Dasi shared, “His divine mission is the very reason we have this incredible movement today. When children understand Mahaprabhu’s teachings and compassion, it naturally inspires them to embrace Krishna consciousness joyfully. They are Srila Prabhupada’s future soldiers, and it is our duty to guide them in the best way possible. I invite all parents to take advantage of this opportunity and allow their children to be part of something truly special.”
