From September 26 to October 3, 2026, the ISKCON Ministry of Education invites devotees, temples, centers, families, and communities worldwide to participate in Books Are the Basis Week. The annual observance aims to give Srila Prabhupada’s books a special place in ISKCON communities’ lives and encourage devotees to read, study, and discuss his teachings.
The initiative was created to help place Srila Prabhupada’s books at the center of devotees’ spiritual lives. A 2020 GBC resolution calling for the enhancement of the culture of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books globally encouraged regular and systematic reading and study.
