Devotees from around the world gathered for a Celebration Sanga on January 26th to mark the distribution of over 4.5 million copies of Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is.
The call, hosted by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) and Global Book Distribution Minister Vaisesika Das, revealed inspiring reports from around the globe, each offered to Srila Prabhupada. The theme of the 2024 campaign was entitled “Make Earth Smart Again.” Vaisesika Dasa noted it is based on the words of Srila Prabhupada, who called the Bhagavad-gita the “Vedic intelligence” that we can all agree the world desperately needs.
Since 1972, the Prabhupada Book Marathon has inspired ISKCON devotees to share the spiritual wisdom of Srila Prabhupada’s books with the world. In recent years, the campaign has seen impressive growth. The 2023 Live to Give distributed over 3.78 million Bhagavad-gitas worldwide and set a goal to distribute 4.2 million in 2024. The One World Team shattered that sankalpa with 4,541,341 Bhagavad-gitas being shared with fortunate souls. Incremental but challenging goals aim to reach 5 million Bhagavad-gitas distributed globally in 2026.
It’s now the season for devotees everywhere to celebrate the transcendental pages of the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita with the “Be a Gardener” Campaign already underway as we approach Gaura Purnima. The global goal is to distribute 7,000 sets in 2025. To follow the latest news and campaigns, please follow the BBT on Facebook.
