He is a miserly man who does not solve the problems of life as a human and who thus quits this world like the cats and dogs, without understanding the science of self realization.”
Generations after generations have passed devoid of having one word in their dictionary and that word is: Self realization. The scriptures say that the purpose of life is not sense gratification but self-realization. When a person considers sense gratification the aim of life, he certainly becomes mad after materialistic living and engages in all kinds of sinful activity.
How many leaders in the world have died - By the weapon of their own false ego, ambitions and greed? The uncontrolled senses of these leaders have destroyed the countries. What if, they would have known that even the entirety of whatever there may be within the three worlds to satisfy one's senses cannot satisfy a person whose senses are uncontrolled.
A man blinded by intoxication with his power and opulence cannot see the god nearby with the rod of punishment in his hand. The supreme godhead, therefore decides to descends himself or send his devotees to strengthen the religious practice and to reestablish the principles of religion.
Devotees are the representatives of the god. Devoid of material desires, these pure devotees of the lord create a bridge between god and these generations. By spreading the glories of the lord and by spreading the message of the lord these devotees purify the generations.
The supreme godhead communicates through books and through his pure devotees. A devotee tolerates insults and all the discomfort of the world just to enlighten the masses and provide them “Bhagwat Geeta and Srimat Bhagwatam- the ultimate books to understand the science of self realization.
One who is consciously engaged in devotional service and in the association of devotees, gains distaste for sense gratification by constantly thinking about the activities of the supreme godhead. When one is actually situated on that path of devotional Service, he is able to control the mind.
The association of pure devotees and the discussion of activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually becomes advanced on the path of liberation and thereafter he is freed, and his attraction becomes fixed. Then real devotion and devotional service begin.
The big question on the board is “Are you a devotee”?
