Ratha Yatra (Festival of the Chariots), one of India’s most ancient and most popular festivals, a sacred day for Hindus worldwide, will be celebrated with a parade down New York’s Fifth Avenue, from 45th Street to West 8th Street. Lord Jagannath resides in Puri on the shores of the turbulent Bay of Bengal. Once a year he comes out of the temple and devotees vie with one another, trying to pull the cord of his commanding chariot. I am reading Sri Namamrta, The Nectar of the Holy Name and it really helping my chanting. When I need some inspiration I turn to this book and it is REALLY NECTAR, pure nectar!
