naham prakasah sarvasya
yoga-maya-samavrtah
mudho 'yam nabhijanati
loko mam ajam avyayam
SYNONYMS
na--nor; aham--I; prakasah--manifest; sarvasya--to everyone; yoga-maya--internal potency; samavrtah--covered; mudhah--foolish; ayam--this; na--not; abhijanati--can understand; lokah--such less intelligent persons; mam--Me; ajam--unborn; avyayam--inexhaustible.
TRANSLATION
I am never manifest to the foolish and unintelligent. For them I am covered by My eternal creative potency [yoga-maya]; and
So I am always emphasizing book distribution. It is the better kirtana. It is better than chanting. Of course chanting should not stop, but book distribution is the best kirtana. (S.P.L. to Srutadeva dasa 24/10/74)

Recently I have taken a 4 month break from my spiritual practice of many years chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. Instead I began hanging out with fundamentalist Christians reading the bible; then leaving that path more or less, I explored what the new age movement had to offer: I became interested in the process of sitting in mediation, discussions about how we are liberated as well as our position as creator of our own individual reality.
