Sri Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama Day 6

Gauranga!!!!

Parikrama is coming to its conclusion. Today we reached Rudradvipa which corresponds to the process of sakhyam, friendship. First we left our camp early morning at 5:30 am to board the very awaited boat ride across the Ganga. Reaching the land we walked about 2 km towards Rukumpur. There we heard about Lord Nityananda's marriage pastime which made the devotees cry in laughter. This Lila was expertly explained by HH Bhakti Nityananda Swami. There is a nice temple of Lord Nityananda along with His son Virachandra.

Rudradvipa is named after Lord Shiva who always resides here, specifically Nila Lohita Shiva. When Vishnuswami came here with his disciples to describe the glories of the Lord, Lord Shiva appeared to them. " I am so happy with you. Because you are worshipping my Lord Krishna I want to bless you. Please ask me for a benediction. "

Vishnuswami felt so blessed by the appearance of Lord Shiva. He asked Lord Shiva for an authority who could give shelter to their sampradaya. Shiva happily volunteered for the service and thus Vishnuswami's sampradaya became known as Rudra sampradaya.

HG Pancharatna Prabhu organised a skit in which Lord Shiva sends Sayujya Mukti( becoming one with the Lord) out of Navadvipa. " There is no place for you in the pastimes of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Leave here immediately! Go to the western world they can give you shelter" After being sent by Lord Shiva to the West, we could see a bogus yogi preaching Mayavada philosophy. Right behind him stood smiling Sayujya Mukti. Then Bhakti Nityananda Maharaja who enacted Srila Prabhupada condemned and defeated both the yogi and Sayujya by arguments and the chanting of Gauranga!

Since last year we have continuous plays organised by HG Pancharatna prabhu, his service is so glorious! Anyone and everyone in any age can understand a philosophical point when it is explained in a drama. Apart from that, the drama activity make the devotees really relish Krna's pastimes, because they need to immerse in it, meditate on it. This is not an accident that Nityananda prabhu in his childhood was doing only dramas all the time.. this is an awesome way to preach and remember Krsna.
