Sri Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama 2017 Day 4

Now Parikrama has circumambulating half of Navadvipa mandala. Today the devotees came to Champahatti the sweet abode of Gaura Gadadhara. There was exciting dramas to watch of the pastime of Samudragarh as well as of Jayadeva Goswami. Jayadeva Goswami spent some time at Champahatti where he composed the Gita Govinda as well as other compositions.

We heard from HH Bhakti Purusottama Swami about Lord Jagannatha and His love for Gita Govinda. Once Lord Jagannatha's Pujari at Jaganntha Puri noticed that the Lord's dhoti an chaddar were torned and there was grass and sticks attached to it. When the king heard about this he became very morose thinking that maybe he had committed an offence. Thus The Lord revealed to him in a dream that He was going to listen to the Gita Govinda from a gardener girl who would sing it every evening as she picked the crops. Thus the king brought her to the temple and made it her regular service to sing Gita Govinda for Lord Jagannatha before He sleeps.

This is still followed today. We heard from HH Jananivas Prabhu about the process of Ritudvipa named, archanam( worshipping the deity). He gave a most beautiful description about how deity worship descends from Goloka Vrindavan. Specifically from the forest of Vraja. "Golden Champaka trees are bending forward to Radha Krishna like a ghee lamp offering . The breeze is collecting pollen from the flowers and in a whirl pool making all the pollen close together like a fragrant umbrella over the head of the divine couple." Like that Jananivas Prabhu showed to us how the forest of Vrindavana or Navadvipa is conscious and it's alive. The Parikrama jubilantly held Katha at Vidyanagar and Sarvabhauma's house. At Vidyanangar Vyasadeva compiled the Puranas, Valmiki wrote the Ramayana, all the 6 schools of logic wrote their thesis. Mahaprabhu planted 5 writing pens in the ground , which grew into beautiful trees. They shade blesses one with transcendental knowledge . In Navadvipa Dhama all trees are wish fulfilling kalpa vrikshas.

Towards the end of today manyDhama vasis were reciprocating very affectionately with the devotees. They would clap, dance chant very loudly the mahamantra.

Tomorrow we are going to Mamgacchi, the birth place of Srila Vrindavan das Thakur, the author of the all auspicious Caitanya Bhagavata.
