(Prahladananda Swami was born in 1949, in Buffallo, New York. He studied at the University of Buffalo, where he received a full scholarship. In January 1969 he joined ISKCON and received both initiations that year from Srila Prabhupada. He helped open temples and distributed Srila Prabhpada's books and preached in universities. He also served as the president of several temples in Texas.)

For the past couple of years, the North European BBT has been busy converting its library into quality ebooks in all current formats. Near the end of 2011 we announced that devotees could download Prabhupada's books for free from our website, bbtmedia.com

A whopping 150,000 downloads later, we feel this program was a success!

Now that we have Srila Prabhupada's English language books converted, we're working diligently on all the languages the North European BBT publishes. And we're beginning to upload other material to the site – audio books (the first volume of the Brhad-Bhagavatamrta is up, narrated by Kesava Bharati Maharaja along with a number of recordings of Srila Prabhupada's books), podcasts, and BBT art images.

To make sure all visitors to the site have a streamlined experience, we have decided to close the complimentary ebook section at the end of July.
