When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

in 2019 while covid pandemic my Senior has told me about ISCKON and handed over me a Bhagwat Geeta and asked me to read.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

    Ahmedabad

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.

I am a civil engineering graduate currently working in Oman. Along with my professional responsibilities, I am sincerely involved with the Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) group in Salalah. I regularly attend the weekly programmes on Friday and Saturday, which inspire me deeply in my spiritual journey. Although I have begun learning about Krishna-bhāvanāmṛta and the teachings of bhakti-yoga, I feel that there is still much more for me to understand and realize. I have a strong desire to advance in spiritual knowledge and devotional practices. Therefore, I am seeking the guidance of senior devotees and, most importantly, a qualified Guru who can help me grow steadily and correctly on the path of Krishna consciousness. With humility and dedication, I aspire to strengthen both my spiritual life and my service attitude while balancing my professional work and devotional commitments.

What are your expectations from this community?

My Expectations from the Saṅsathā (Organization) to Learn Krishna Consciousness As I continue my spiritual journey, I humbly look forward to learning and growing through the guidance of the saṅsathā. My expectations are simple and sincere: Proper Guidance in Krishna Consciousness: I wish to receive clear teachings on the principles of bhakti-yoga, scriptures like the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and practical ways to apply them in daily life. Association of Senior Devotees: I hope to learn from experienced devotees who can guide me with their knowledge, discipline, and personal example. Their association will help me stay inspired and steady. Opportunity to Serve (Sevā): I would like opportunities for devotional service, as service helps in developing humility, steadiness, and a deeper connection with Lord Krishna. Spiritual Mentorship and Guru Guidance: I seek help in understanding the process of accepting a Guru at the right time and developing a proper disciple’s attitude. I wish to receive support in approaching a bona fide spiritual master when I am ready. Regular Satsanga and Programs: I expect consistent spiritual gatherings—kīrtan, lectures, study circles, and discussions—where I can learn, practice, and clarify doubts. A Supportive Devotional Environment: I hope the saṅsathā provides an encouraging and respectful atmosphere where I can progress at my own pace while balancing my job responsibilities.
