When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
I was lost and searching for answers I was a Christian but it was a very abusive situation growing up so I walked away. I couldn't take the constant preaching of how angry God was with me. But when I walked into the beutiful temple in Detroit for a tour and I stayed for the teachings and it was love and peace and chanting the Mantra and singing was perfect.
Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.
Rashaan' Devon' and Pradhuba know many more but I am horrible with spelling of the names.
Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.
I'm 40 and extremely spiritual but battle depression. But since I've been chanting and it helps the mantra and washing my mind with Praduhubas knowledge really helped me to stay out of trouble and clean from toxins. I'm a father of four. Two of my kids still live with me I'm trying to get them to follow Krishna but there hard headed. But my daughter who's twelve is coming around because she sees where I was and where I've gone.
What are your expectations from this community?
I hope to meet like minded people and learn more about ISKCON. And I also want to branch out and visit other temples
Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?
I would love to work with recovering addicts and people recovering from religious abuse also one day I hope to have read all the books and take some classes on how to help out learn the Bagdavagita as it is and be able to teach someday. I'd also love to travel and meet others. For Krishna Id like to help with spreading his word and helping people learn bakti Yoga. And I'd like to make an arguement for reincarnation scientifically.
