Why do we do not touch the Sumeru bead while chanting?

Hare Krishna,I am chanting since 8 months but I have a question why we do not touch the sumeru bead.Please help me understand the logic behind this.Sincerely yoursSumit kapoor

Read Bhagwad Gita giev to me by some devotee in East of Kailash Delhi temple, read after 11 years and went to temple on Gaur Purnima. Since 2 years i am chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
