When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
Three years ago, I was struggling deeply with worries and the challenges of living with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. I felt overwhelmed, and my disability seemed to define my limitations. In the midst of this, I found ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), which became a beacon of hope in my life. Initially, my parents didn’t approve of my involvement with ISKCON, so I had to pursue my bhakti activities in secret. Despite this, I immersed myself in the teachings of Lord Krishna, finding comfort in the idea that we are more than our physical bodies. Through reading the Bhagavad Gita and engaging in spiritual practices, I learned that life’s difficulties, including my disability, were not punishments but opportunities for growth. ISKCON introduced me to a supportive community where I wasn’t defined by my condition. The philosophy of surrendering to Krishna during tough times gave me the strength to cope with my struggles. Even though I couldn’t openly participate, the spiritual practices of chanting, reading scriptures, and meditating have become a source of peace and resilience for me. Today, I continue to practice my devotion quietly, drawing strength from the teachings and the community that has shaped my outlook on life. ISKCON has shown me that my journey, though different, is filled with purpose and meaning.

"I am a 22-year-old devotee who has been part of ISKCON for the past three years, practicing bhakti in secret due to family restrictions. Despite living with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, I am deeply dedicated to Krishna consciousness and find strength in Lord Krishna’s teachings. I am always eager to connect with others who share a passion for spiritual growth and devotee association."
Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?
1. Kirtan and Bhajan Participation:
"Though I face physical challenges due to cerebral palsy, my heart is filled with devotion, and I would love to participate in or assist with kirtan. Chanting the holy names brings me immense peace, and I would be honored to contribute to creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere during temple events or small gatherings."
2. Seva for Prasadam Distribution:
"I may not be able to assist with physically demanding tasks, but I would love to help with prasadam seva by distributing or offering prasadam to devotees. Sharing sanctified food as an act of love and service to Lord Krishna and His devotees is something that fills my heart with joy."
3. Spreading Krishna Consciousness through Discussions or Online Engagement:
"Given my personal journey with both spiritual and physical challenges, I feel inspired to serve by sharing Krishna consciousness through discussions or online platforms. I would love to organize small study groups or participate in online forums, helping others who may also be facing difficulties to find strength and inspiration through bhakti."
