When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
I came across a few pictures and seemingly random signs that Krsna was trying to get my attention, and I had previously been rather atheistic (to a certain extent). Then, I found the Bhagavad Gita on a friends shelf and decided to check it out. And, from there, I was hooked :)
Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.
A small temple run by Sankarshan Das Adhikari and Abhay Charan Das (while Sankarshan is traveling)
I have become well aquianted with Radhapriya Devi Dasi (who has been involved in the movement for a few years), Melissa Flores, and Abhay Charan Das and his son Kirtan. I am getting to know a most of the others there.
Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.
I moved to Austin from Indiana in October of '09. I have attended the ISKCON temple in town here occasionally since roughly the end of November in '09. I also attend a few other programs headed by devotees and enjoy visiting the Dallas temple. I also hope to be able to visit other nearby temples as soon as possible :)
What are your expectations from this community?
to learn even more about Lord Krsna and his activities and to hopefully make friends with more devotees.
Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?
I want to help enlighten other people with the help of devotees and Lord Krsna.
