We were all chanting in the morning program and I saw a woman with two children. The elder one had a bead bag and was chanting. The younger one goes upto the elder one and asks for the bead bag. She gives it to her. Then the elder daughter takes a new bead bag and starts chanting again. The younger daughter looks at her sister with a new bead bag and goes up to her again and asks for the bead bag. She gives it to her again. This continues for many a times. And finally the mother scolds the younger daughter to not behave this way. The younger daughter starts crying and crying, she lays down and starts flapping her hands and feet. She was feeling miserable. This material life is very miserable. As children since they are very young, they don't hide their feelings. But as grown ups we feel the same way too.
Just yesterday my father was telling that his relatives were telling, Tumhare bete ney kya kiya? What has he accomplished in life? What material things has he done? How many houses has he purchased? See his cousin brothers. They are buying so many houses, so many flats, big position. What has your son accomplished? Nothing... What has he done? And immediately till then my father was peaceful and then he became morose. There is constant comparison.
A child comes up to the mother and says , Mummy result aa Gaya..
Mother : Kitna mila ?
Child : 40% aaya.
Mother : 40%? Fool. Don't you study?
Child : Mummy, you don't know. I'm the only one who passed in the entire class.
Mother : Very good my child.
It doesn't really matter how much you have. It matters how much more you have as compared to others. This is material life.
And people enter into this material life thinking that I'll become very happy. Big house means we will be happy. Big car means we will be happy.
